Welcome to our Newsletter...

SOUTH EAST REGIONAL NEWSLETTER 2006

It was a Colossus Event!! That caused a Tidal Wave of Excitement

The Duke of Edinburgh’s South East Regional event at Thorpe Park on Saturday 25th March was a fun day out for the whole family.

Through the kind donations of many people the Award was able to raise £134 to go towards The Duke of Edinburgh’s Jubilee fund.

We would like to say a big thank you to all our volunteers that helped out on the day in promoting The Award.

With the rain holding off in the morning the Award group from the Isle of Wight were able to clown around and entertain the Depth Charge queue with various circus skills, from stilt walking to juggling.

We hope that everybody who came had a fantastic time and will continue to support our other 50th Anniversary Events.

2006 SE Regional Conference

The South East Regional Conference took place in February at the Innlodge, Portsmouth.

This year's theme was ‘Present, Past and Future’ of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. HRH The Earl of Wessex met 100 Award Participants at the Guildhall, Portsmouth before joining us for the Conference Dinner and as our after dinner speaker.

After the dinner a raffle was held which raised £360.00 to go towards the Jubilee Fund. A big thank you to all those who donated prizes.
